It wasn’t until recently that I tapped into my old self.
The self that was involved in team sports growing up, meeting new people, competing, and proving myself.
One group outing led to a basketball game, a football game, and new friendships. I didn’t know this was the belongingness I needed to feel in order to create like I did in the past.
I thought I needed to rejoin the Army or join an official team in order to feel the “belongingness” portion of Maslow’s Pyramid.
By simply tapping into my “old self” I revived my energy and optimism. When you get older, you mature in some ways but also regress in others. It’s part of growing up. Here are some of my most proven strategies for a positive outlook on life.
